About the Herbert H. Carnegie Scholarship
The York University Herbert H. Carnegie Scholarship was established in 2013 to carry on the legacy of Herbert Carnegie following his passing in 2012. It is awarded to undergraduate students applying for admission from a Canadian secondary school who exhibit exemplary citizenship qualities as represented by the Future Aces Philosophy (community service, volunteerism, and humanitarian causes).

DID YOU KNOW: In 1988 Bernice co-founded a scholarship initiative with her parents through their family Foundation. In its three decades of operation close to a million dollars in scholarships were awarded. Recipients exemplified Future Aces values by extensively volunteering and performing humanitarian services in their communities.

DID YOU KNOW: Our recipients continue to share the best of who they can be throughout their lives. In 1990 Mitzie Hunter (Former MPP and Former Minister of Education for Ontario) and Luisa Caruso were Future Aces Carnegie Scholarship Recipients. Audrey and Herb Carnegie congratulate them for their achievements.

DID YOU KNOW: In 2006 Herbert H. Carnegie received an Honourary Doctor of Laws degree from York University. Many friends and family were there to celebrate this milestone in his life. Dr. Carnegie with his family.
